United Kingdom High Commissioner to Malaysia, Ailsa Terry, reflected on ASEAN’s founding moment 57 years ago, expressing optimism for a stronger partnership between the UK and ASEAN. She reiterated the UK’s commitment to growing together with ASEAN, echoing the sentiments of the ASEAN Declaration.
The US Embassy reaffirmed its commitment to ASEAN through a social media message, emphasizing the enduring partnership between the United States and ASEAN, with the US being a major contributor to the region’s economic growth and the largest source of foreign direct investment.
South Korean Ambassador to Malaysia, Yeo Seung Bae, congratulated ASEAN on its anniversary and expressed South Korea’s continued dedication to strengthening its relationship with ASEAN, particularly in the lead-up to Malaysia’s chairmanship.
Other envoys, including those from Japan, South Africa, and Ukraine, also extended their best wishes and highlighted the importance of ongoing cooperation with ASEAN. They underscored the shared commitment to fostering harmony and prosperity within the region.
