Event Marks the 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations Between China and Malaysia
In a significant move to bolster economic ties and explore new trade opportunities, ASEAN Hub organized a delegation visit from Puning, China, to Malaysia. The 60-member delegation visited key locations, including MYDIN Hypermarket, Huazong (华总), and Sunway Velocity Mall. This visit underscores the ongoing efforts to deepen the relationship between China and Malaysia as both countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
The delegation from Puning (普宁), which included key business leaders and representatives from various industries, began their tour at MYDIN Hypermarket. The visit was warmly welcomed by MYDIN’s Executive Director, Mr. Ahimmat Mydin, who emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships with China. The delegation received an in-depth look into MYDIN’s retail operations, with guided tours led by Mr. Norman Rajen Abdullah, General Manager, and Mrs. Moo Yen Sun, Division Manager.
Following the visit to MYDIN, the delegation proceeded to Huazong, where they toured the Malaysian Chinese Museum and engaged in discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations and exploring collaborative opportunities. The day concluded with a visit to Sunway Velocity Mall, where the delegation was introduced to Malaysia’s modern retail landscape.
