Celebrating ASEAN Unity Through Culture, Youth, and Regional Achievements

The highly anticipated ASEAN Festival 2024 will begin with a spectacular Opening Ceremony on 14th November, 2024, at GEMBOX, Nilai. This four-day event, running from 14th to 17th November, is a celebration of ASEAN’s vibrant culture and achievements, aimed at strengthening ties and fostering collaboration among member nations.

The opening ceremony will feature a walking tour of the festival grounds, followed by cultural performances, including a traditional showcase. Distinguished guests, including Dr. Christina Yeo Ken Yin, representing YB Khairul Firdaus bin Akbar Khan, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture Malaysia, and Dr. Mohamed Maliki Mohamed Rapiee, representing YB Hannah Yeoh, Minister of Youth and Sports Malaysia, will grace the event.

Speeches will be delivered by key figures, including Mr. Eldrick Koh, Executive Director of ASEAN Hub and Organizing Chairman of ASEAN Festival, and Encik Ariff Budiman Ishak, CEO of Royale Fiesta, Co-Organizer of the festival. Ms. Gillian Ooi, Director of GenYouth and Founder of Youth Achievement Records, will address the importance of fostering youth excellence through recognition and inspiration during her speech at the Youth Achievement Records Certificate Presentation. She will highlight the role of the Youth Achievement Records in empowering young leaders to overcome challenges, strive for excellence, and contribute positively to society.

One of the key highlights of the opening ceremony will be the ASEAN Records Certificate Presentation, led by Y.M. Tengku Hishammuddin Zaizi, alongside Dr. Christina Yeo and ASEAN Records Founders, to honor outstanding achievements within the ASEAN region. This presentation will showcase milestones in innovation, business, and environmental sustainability, underscoring ASEAN’s shared commitment to excellence and progress.

The festival will also host the launch of ASEAN Records, an initiative celebrating remarkable achievements across ASEAN nations, and the Youth Achievement Records Certificate Presentation, recognizing young leaders who inspire progress and innovation. The ceremony will culminate with the unveiling of the ASEAN Records logo and a group photo featuring ambassadors and representatives from ASEAN embassies, including Laos, Myanmar, Timor-Leste, Cambodia, the Philippines, and Vietnam.

Organized by ASEAN Hub, GenYouth, and Royale Fiesta, with support from the Malaysia Tourism Board and ASEAN embassies, this event promises to be a celebration of culture, youth, and regional collaboration. Visitors can look forward to a vibrant mix of culinary delights, traditional performances, and cross-cultural exchanges over the four-day festival.
