KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – 21 SEPTEMBER 2025 — Eco-Shop, one of Malaysia’s fastest-growing retail chains, has been officially recognised by ASEAN RECORDS for achieving the milestone:
“Largest Corporate CSR Charity Carnival Distributing Meals and Stationery to Underprivileged Communities.”
The initiative reached 677 beneficiaries, involved 88 Eco-Shop staff, and brought together a total of 924 participants nationwide.
A Milestone of Community Care
Held in conjunction with Malaysia Day, this recognition was awarded for Eco-Shop’s largest community outreach to date — the “Satu Senyuman, Seribu Makna” (One Smile, A Thousand Meanings) campaign — culminating in a charity carnival on 20 September 2025 at MAEPS, Serdang.
The milestone was celebrated during Eco-Shop’s 13th Anniversary Merdeka Celebration, a nationwide movement dedicated to spreading compassion and delivering meaningful support to communities most in need.
The official certificate was presented to Jessica Ng, CEO & Executive Director of Eco-Shop Marketing Berhad, during a special ceremony, witnessed by Mohamad Naim, Assistant Manager PR & Communications of Yayasan Budimas.
A Carnival of Smiles
In collaboration with the Budimas Charitable Foundation, the carnival welcomed over 1,000 attendees, including children and caretakers from charity homes across Malaysia. Beyond being a festive occasion, it was a testament to Eco-Shop’s mission to uplift lives and embed community care at the core of its brand values.
The campaign’s outreach included the distribution of stationery kits and meals across multiple states, uniting Eco-Shop staff in hands-on community engagement. The celebration featured cultural performances, fun games, food sharing, and personal storytelling sessions, creating an atmosphere of joy and inclusivity.
Adding to the warmth, beloved local personalities Che Sayang and Chef Jia Le made special appearances, bringing laughter and inspiration to the children.
“This campaign was never about how big the event could be, but about how deeply it could touch the lives of those we serve,” said Jessica Ng, CEO & Executive Director of Eco-Shop Marketing Berhad.
13 Years of Purpose-Led Growth
Since its founding in 2011 in Jementah, Johor, Eco-Shop has grown from a single outlet into a trusted retail brand with over 380 outlets nationwide (as of July 2025). Guided by its core pillars of affordability, accessibility, and sustainability, the company has redefined value shopping for Malaysian households, offering daily essentials at prices starting from as low as RM2.60.
With a vision to be Malaysia’s leading ultra-affordable retailer, Eco-Shop continues to drive positive change through its products, CSR initiatives, and its loyalty app with over 2 million members, delivering everyday savings and rewards to customers.
A Movement Beyond Retail
The “Satu Senyuman, Seribu Makna” campaign reinforces Eco-Shop’s belief that retail can be more than just transactions — it can be a movement of kindness and hope.
ASEAN Records congratulates Eco-Shop on this meaningful milestone, which reflects the company’s dedication to community upliftment and positions it as a heart-driven leader in corporate social responsibility across ASEAN.
