Milestone celebrated at grand opening of Wagyu by La Moon in Kuala Lumpur

KUALA LUMPUR, 25 June 2025 — Malaysia’s culinary landscape just carved out a new achievement as Zenrich Wagyu officially secures an ASEAN Record for the Largest Annual Volume of Japanese Wagyu Imported in One Year.
With a remarkable total of 600 Wagyu cattle, 192,000 kilograms of imported meat, and a jaw-dropping 12.86 million slices (15g each), Zenrich’s feat underscores its role as a leader in premium meat distribution and halal-certified Japanese wagyu.

Since its establishment in 2015, Zenrich has built a reputation as a trusted pioneer in bringing authentic, traceable, and Halal-certified Japanese Wagyu to Malaysia’s top-tier restaurants and hotels. Sourcing from renowned prefectures such as Miyazaki, Kagoshima, and Hokkaido, every cut is curated with care and in compliance with both JAKIM and Japanese Halal certification bodies.
The record-setting achievement was commemorated during the Grand Opening of Wagyu by La Moon, a luxurious new dining concept in TTDI, Kuala Lumpur, helmed by veteran Chef Saburou Niitsu, whose culinary journey spans more than 35 years in Japanese cuisine.
The celebration welcomed several distinguished guests, including:
- YB Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup, Deputy Minister of Agriculture & Food Security
- H.E. Daisuke Nihei, Minister Counsellor, Embassy of Japan
- Datuk Bahria Mohd Tamil, MITI
- Dato’ Kamil Othman, FINAS
- Mr. Chua Choon Hwa, MOTAC

This milestone marks more than a record — it represents a fusion of culture, culinary excellence, and Malaysia’s growing appreciation for premium, ethically sourced cuisine.
